Margarita Bee - Shortage of Time





I wrote Shortage of Time during my senior year of university, when I was feeling suffocated by the apparent shortage of time to achieve my ambitions. The piano quintet mirrors the emotions and tempoes we feel through life - at times peaceful and slow, at other times anxious and vehement, but ultimately hopeful and continuous. Shortage of Time is a piece for a piano quintet: piano, violins, viola, and cello.

How To Train your Dragon - Flying Scene (Margarita Bee soundtrack)

I created soundtrack for this How to Train Your Dragon scene as part of an experiment at Steinhardt, New York University in New York.

NYUAD team - Solar Decathlon #1 (Margarita Bee soundtrack)

Created the soundtrack for a short ad video of the team from NYU Abu Dhabi for the Solar Decathlon collegiate competition in building solar-powered houses.

I composed "Fire" as part of "Elements", a four-piece project with natural elements: fire, rain, birds, and crickets.

Songwriting - "Fire Escape"



I wrote “Fire Escape” in New York. I have been watching the sunset while sitting on the fire escape of a tall building overlooking the Central Park, next to my friend. The moment was so beautiful that I had to transform that place into music. I wrote the lyrics and melody (toplined) on top of the amazing track composed and produced by Albert Pan (A.K.A. “Folded Dragons”), whom I met at NYU. Albert was a talented musician and consultant before I even knew what consulting was, and I am grateful to have known him.

Margarita Bee - Ca pe luncă, Pt. I (Dubstep Version)

For my university thesis, I chose the Romanian folk song “Ca pe luncă” and reimagined it through the Electronic genre Dubstep. The first piece was created with the intention of preserving the meter and tempo of Dubstep.The original piece "Ca pe luncă” can be found here.

The second piece has a greater amount of the folk piece intact, preserving its meter and tempo. For both pieces I recreated the original folk song through Logic Pro X, as well as composed and produced them via the same Digital Audio Workstation.

Who is Margarita Bee?

Margarita Bee (born Margarita Bicec) is a Moldovan composer, songwriter, producer and lyricist. With a Bachelor's degree in Music and Economics from New York University Abu Dhabi, Margarita writes the music and lyrics for pop songs, as well as composes and produces soundtracks for promo videos and films.

Margarita has diverse experiences and predilections both in her music and her life endeavors: in music, she is passionate about creating mainstream, classical, and electronic music, whereas in her career, she has experience in Sound Engineering, Artificial Intelligence research, and Tax Consultancy at PwC. Margarita is currently pursuing a Master's in Management at London Business School.
